A component of the JBL Synthesis Subwoofer lineup, the SSW-3 represents an ultra-high-performance passive in-wall subwoofer, intricately engineered to harmonise with any of the JBL Synthesis Custom Loudspeakers (SCL series) within a comprehensive JBL Synthesis setup. Boasting dual 10-inch (250mm) cast-frame composite cone woofers, each equipped with substantial 2.5-inch (63mm) voice coils, the SSW-3 achieves a total system power handling capability of 600W RMS.
Featuring a compression-molded baffle with extensive structural ribbing, the SSW-3 provides an ultra-rigid, low-resonance mounting surface for the transducers. This baffle assembly seamlessly attaches to the included in-wall enclosure, resulting in a fully sealed acoustic suspension design. The in-wall enclosure, constructed from 0.75-inch (19mm) MDF with comprehensive internal bracing, incorporates rubber isolation mounting points to minimize sonic intrusion into the wall structure. Designed to fit within standard 2 x 6-inch wood frame construction, the combined assembly ensures discrete in-wall installation.
For added versatility, the SSW-3 includes a paintable zero-bezel, magnetically attached grille, or it can be utilized without the grille when positioned behind acoustically transparent fabric panels. With its ability to deliver powerful, dynamic, and precise bass response, the SSW-3 excels particularly in medium to large-sized rooms, enhancing the overall audio experience.
